My little story…
Hi there! I’m Andrea. {teacher, storyteller, & artist}
Although I’ve always been a teacher in some capacity, I never knew I was an artist until I took a giant risk in 2010 and decided to take a break from my life’s work and first love: elementary teacher. In those eight years home with my two boys, I taught myself so much more than how to work my camera. I learned to let life unfold around me. I learned to live a little more slowly. I learned to SEE. (I mean quite literally… I taught myself to see light and ordinary beauty that I never ever noticed before.)
Since then, I’ve had the honor of teaching other photographers all over the world through Click Photo School in my 2016 breakout, The Stories that Make Us and my 2017/18 workshop, The Family Storyteller. Even more importantly, local families trust me enough to invite me into their homes to capture their everyday, true little stories in a documentary style.
In short, I’ve carved out a role as a mirror holder. You don’t think your life is beautiful? I know it is. Whether I’m working in a teacher or artist capacity, I’ll hold up a mirror to your regular, extraordinary life. (Just wait till you see it!)
Real life is beautiful!
